Anton Strohmayer

Anton Strohmayer, (25 January 1848 – 20 December 1937), was born in Vienna and was a member of the Schrammel-Quartett. His father was Alois Strohmayer, an Austrian composer.
He studied the guitar with his father Alois Strohmayer (1822-1890). As a boy, he already had similar ability to brothers Johann and Josef Schrammel, two renowned Austrian guitarists who were taken in by his father to play the guitars in restaurants across the city. The first time he had played was at the "Green Huntsman" played in the Prater. Strohmayer was an accomplished guitarist and also played the violin.
His honorary grave is located on the Dornbacher cemetery in Vienna.
